Washington School of Photography offers many courses, ranging from traditional film and darkroom practice to digital media, in addition to a Professional Program leading to a certificate in professional photography.
WSP's state-of-the-art facility features a black-and-white darkroom; a dedicated digital teaching area; and a professional shooting studio.
The Washington School of Photography was founded in 1976, to bring professional photographic education to the Washington, DC/Baltimore metro area. Starting in just two rooms, the workshops and classes quickly grew. In the 1980s, the Professional Photography Program was approved by the Maryland Higher Education Commission.

The Washington School of Photography occupies 17,000 square feet, offering students a fully equipped studio, numerous classrooms, darkroom, gallery space, library, and finishing room.
